HOSPITAL DEATHS TO BE MONITORED

The BBC have reported that from April 2011, all deaths in hospital, and additionally, deaths within a month of discharge from hospital, are to be monitored under a new system.

DePuy ASR Hip Replacement implants which have been in clinical use in the UK since 2003 have been recalled by their manufacturer. The manufacturer previously issued a failed safety notice on the 18th March 2010.
