Laparoscopic (Keyhole) Surgery: Negligence

The Clinical Negligence team at Gregory Abrams Davidson represent many clients who have suffered harm having undergone laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.
Keyhole surgery is increasingly common. The main advantage of this form of surgery is that recovery is relatively quick involving shorter hospital stays. However, as with all
surgery, there are certain recognised risks associated with keyhole surgery, namely bowel/bladder perforation or bile duct injuries. Careful monitoring of vital signs
following keyhole surgery is vital. If left undiagnosed, these risks can develop into life threatening complications.

BREAST CANCER SCANDAL IN ACCRINGTON

An enquiry has recently revealed that a Consultant Radiologist in Accrington has missed breast cancer in approximately 61 women who were wrongly given the all-clear.

DEPUY CLAIMS: UPDATE

An international recall was announced in August 2010 as a result of data that revealed that many patients required further hip replacement surgery in a very short time frame. The following DePuy implants were recalled in August 2010: ASR XL Acetabular System and ASR Hip Resurfacing System.
