NHS Performance – There is room for improvement

In an article from late 2019, The Health Foundation has set out where is believes the NHS is failing its patients most and the impact that this is having on patient safety. The following conclusions were reached in the article:

Clinical Negligence – Where is the Money Going?

According to this recent BBC article, a figure of £83 billion is quoted in respect of the cost of outstanding compensation claims against the NHS. As any outstanding compensation will not necessarily be paid out in the next year and could stretch well into the future, it is misleading to quote this figure in the same breath as the annual NHS budget, however, it does provide for shocking reading none the less.
