FINANCIAL MIS-SELLING CLAIMS: Guardian Care Homes –v- Barclays: the tip of the iceberg?

This recent case, involving a claim by a care home against Barclays as a result of the Libor interest rate rigging scandal, has attracted much press attention in the context of financial mis-selling claims generally.

 

A High Court Judge has recently ruled that this test case must now go to a full trial. It has been suggested that this decision is politically motivated (i.e. “let’s keep bashing the banks”). However this fast developing area of litigation is not limited to high profile cases or PPI; it affects business of all shapes and sizes as well as individuals.

 

Now more than ever, it is imperative that individuals, as well as small businesses, should review their financial products, loans and investments and consider whether they have been properly advised and what, if any, action can be taken if they have suffered financial loss.
