Working at Height

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have this week announced another successful prosecution of an employer following an accident at work which left a Hartlepool man paralysed.

The man was knocked out of a scissor lift at work when some overhead trays collapsed, causing him to fall eight metres.

The incident highlights the ongoing dangers that many employees are exposed to on a daily basis when working at height, and the obligations that employers have to ensure the safety of their employees whilst they are at work.

HSE Inspector Denis Bodger said after the hearing; “It is essential that employers consider all aspects of difficult and dangerous work; health and safety is not just a phrase, it is a considered approach to protecting people in the workplace.”

At Gregory Abrams Davidson Solicitors we specialise in all areas of Employer’s Liability Law and can advise you if you have suffered any type of accident at work.
