What is a No Win, No Fee compensation claim?
A No Win, No Fee Agreement, is otherwise known as a Conditional Fee Agreement and is a method by which you can fund your claim for compensation if we are satisfied that the case has sufficient prospects of success. We generally recommend that you take out a policy of insurance to cover the cost of your own disbursements (medical reports, Court fees etc) and to protect against the risk of having to pay your opponents costs in certain limited circumstances. You will be required to pay a contribution towards the total cost of the insurance premium in the event that your claim is successful.
How much will it cost me if I win my case compensation claim?
If you win your case, then we expect to recover your costs from your opponent. We will however charge you a success fee payable from your damages if your claim is successful. If you have taken out insurance, you will be required to pay a contribution towards the total cost of the insurance premium.
What if I lose my case?
If you lose your case you will not be required to pay our legal costs and we will not be paid as we were acting on a No Win No Fee basis. Assuming you have additionally taken out a policy of insurance this will cover the cost of your own disbursements. The policy is self-insured, and no payment will be required by you.
Therefore, in summary if you lose your case (and have kept to the requirements of the No Win No Fee Agreement) you will not be left with any costs to pay.
