Recent data released by the Health and Safety Executive has revealed that there has been over half a million non-fatal workplace accidents in a single year. This data was based on self reports from the Labour Force Survey in 2021/2022.

The most common causes of these workplace accidents included:

Over 36 million working days have been lost due to work-related illness and workplace injuries.

Sadly, the same report also reveals that 123 workers were killed in work-related accidents. The industries with the highest fatality rates were reported as:

  • Construction
  • Agriculture, forestry and fishing
  • Manufacturing
  • Transport and Storage
  • Administration and support services.
