General Medical Council (GMC) Claims Lawyers Liverpool & North West London
If you have concerns about the conduct, competence, or health of a doctor registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the United Kingdom, you can report them to the GMC.
The steps to follow are:
- Gather information: Before making a report, it’s important to gather as much information as possible about the doctor and the concerns you have. This may include details about the doctor’s actions, any relevant medical records, and any other relevant documentation.
- Contact the GMC: You can contact the GMC by telephone, email, or post. The GMC will then assess your report to determine if it needs to be investigated further.
- Provide information: If the GMC decides to investigate your report, you may be asked to provide additional information or attend a meeting to discuss your concerns.
- Outcome: The GMC will determine the outcome of its investigation and decide what action, if any, needs to be taken. This may include taking no further action, offering advice or guidance, or referring the doctor to a fitness to practice panel for a hearing.
The GMC will only investigate concerns about doctors who are registered with them.
The GMC do not make awards for compensation for injuries or losses sustained by patients.
