Damages of £65,000 were awarded. IN underwent surgery for knee replacement. She suffered nerve damage post surgery which caused ‘drop foot’. As a result she had difficulty walking and with her day to day life. Damages of £43,000 were awarded. SF attended A/E when he suffered a leg injury. A DVT was incorrectly diagnosed and he was administered with an anticoagulant causing further bleeding and compartment syndrome. Extensive surgery was required to save his leg. Damages of £55,000 were awarded. KM suffered an injury to her bladder during gynaecological surgery. She was awarded damages of £250,000. Interim payments enabled a commercial surrogacy arrangement in California, and the claimant’s first child was born prior to final settlement. Hypoxic brain injury and cerebral palsy caused by negligent post-birth treatment, resulting in the need for adapted accommodation, intensive therapy, and 24-hour care for life.
